You left out that Sylvia paid the musicians on Rapper's Delight way under scale ($50 each) and was well aware she was using Chic's music for Good Times without asking permission. Sylvia wrote her hit Pillow Talk and knew what she was doing when she did it. Chic sued and Sylvia settled.

On another note, this is very well written.
