In a country where politicians and public figures adhere to their group’s dogma more and more vigilantly every day, Doctor Scott Gottlieb stands out as a man who tells the truth as he sees it regardless of any political fallout — and chooses to place the good of the country ahead of all else.

This morning on Face the Nation, Margaret Brennan solicited the doctor’s opinion on the just FDA-approved Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Apparently, from the current data available, this new shot is more effective than its competitors, and requires just one dose while the others recommend two! Call me crazy! But who in his right mind wouldn’t opt for the new Johnson and Johson vaccine in favor of the others?

Now, Doctor Gottlieb sits on the board of Pfizer Inc. And we all know the power that big pharma and Pfizer as part of that, can wield when it comes to public policy.

If Gottlieb had been a politician in what has become our more and more partisan and dysfunctional two-party system, he more than likely would have defended Pfizer’s vaccination — and suggested theirs was the superior of the lot. But that’s not what he did.
