Too often, those of us who read on this platform find stories that are designed to bring the writer revenue. Their agenda might be hidden behind some diaphanous curtain, but make no mistake about it. Money is what they’re after. Sharing their expertise is secondary. So today, I’ve decided to write a story designed to make other writers money.

Given that this is a social medium, joining the party via reading, commenting, and highlighting is a big part of gaining traction here. It’s unrealistic to think you can write, publish, and then expect the world to tune in when you don’t reciprocate. That’s not the way this community works.

As such and in my mission to succeed, I do a fair amount of reading here. And if I told you I like everything I read, I’d be lying. If I told you I like most things I read, I’d also be lying. Mostly, I only like a few stories I read. But when I like them, I really like them. It’s kind of like how I feel about country music. Most of it is commercial drivel. And then? Bang! A diamond in the rough that makes me think “I wish I could write a song that good!”

But I digress. Here goes with my four favorite medium stories and the writers who wrote them:
