My 15 Minutes of Fame

It was a wild ride!

After publishing some 500 stories on this platform — without having even one curated — I arose one morning to discover that a dozen or so articles had been curated overnight. And for the next week, most of what I launched onto the site garnered the curation sticker within hours.

At first, it had no effect. For a few days — nothing. Then one story got a few hundred views. It stopped quickly. But another exploded right after. I was in shock. I got more views in one day than I’d had in the previous two months!

Predictably, some hate mail began appearing in the responses. A few were downright nasty. Hey! I’m exposing the underbelly of the escort netherworld here. It comes with the territory.

A friend told me to ignore the responders. I answered them calmly and respectfully — even if they’d been rude. I figured I must be doing something right if I’d ruffled a few feathers.

Then something strange happened. My curation disappeared from a story. I was puzzled. Then it disappeared from another story! And within a day, almost all the seals of approval are gone!

My 15 minutes have apparently elapsed. Easy come — easy go, I guess.
