Let’s Keep Andy
He meant no harm!
I like Andrew Cuomo. He strikes me as a regular guy. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer — but a straight shooter. I love that he doesn’t have a filter — a rare treat in a calculated politician.
Remember when referring to that “make America great again” Trump bull shit, he observed “When was it ever great?” That right there is what I look for in a politician. Ya know…shoot from the hip candor without worrying if his off-the-cuff comments will sink his political life.
I also applaud the way he took charge during the pandemic — and his stance on abortion and same-sex marriage — especially given his religion (he’s Catholic).
But having sung his praises, Andy also strikes me as a socially clumsy type of guy. I can surely picture him saying something stupid to a woman in jest — and her getting very insulted by his crass comments. He’s got a Schwarzenegger thing going on with women. Which is to say he’s more clueless than misogynist. (Except I think Arnold is misogynist.)
Call me crazy. But he didn’t rape anybody. He just made a few artless advances. It’s not the end of the world.
Plus, Andy has acknowledged his gaffs — and apologized for them. Yet opponents want him to resign. I don’t get it. He takes his job seriously — and does the best he can — given he isn’t…
