How to Fail on Medium

You say you wanna succeed on this platform? Do exactly the opposite of what I do. That would be a good place to start!

One of the many reasons I don’t succeed on medium has to do with my using the site as a personal journal — often paying no mind to exactly the kind of writing that might make me a success. Just for fun, here’s an idea of what you should do that I don’t:

First and foremost, writers here should provide value to the reader. Yes, it helps to write well, format well, and all that. But what I’ve read time and time again and believe to be the most important part of the formula for success is to give the reader value. And when you simply chronicle your daily activities and then shoot it into cybersphere, your chances of success are negligible. Right there is why I’m running the 50-yard dash in ankle weights.

So why do I even bother given the realities of which I’m well aware? There’s an excellent answer to that question: What I really like about medium is the ease with which writers can use the interface — and how professional it looks when published.
