Here's my take: Bear in mind that medium readers are mostly Silicon Valley types. 75% are white. 50% earn 100k + per year. If those type people don't interest you, what you write won't interest them. You're at the wrong party. Go find another one. Full disclosure: I'm at the wrong party.
