New York’s Mayor Joins the Wrong Side of #Metoo
New York City’s Mayor Adams, once a police officer part of whose job it was to ensure officers of color got the promotions they deserved, stands accused of sexual improprieties by a woman who claims she sought his advice in exchange for which he sought oral sex many years ago.
For his part, the Mayor denies the allegations and adds that he doesn’t even know the woman. That’s certainly not the first time we’ve heard and read a similar story. Donald Trump for one, is a forerunner in denying ever meeting women who accused him of sexual assault. So how in the world can anybody judge this “he says/she says” issue? There might be a way.
Through her complaint, Beach-Mathura describes the events in lurid detail. In a secluded parking lot, she claims that Adams requested she fellate him in exchange for his advice. Rubbing his penis through his pants during the request — and having received repeated “no’s” from the woman, Adams yanked out his erect junk and masturbated on her thigh and clothing — according to Beach-Mathura. (Classy guy if it’s true.)
In her disfavor are three past lawsuits the woman brought against various entities, two of which were outright dismissed, and one she lost in court. To me, that would…
