Before I begin, let me assure y’all that I’m not about to brag on big earnings and turn everybody off with how much I am making — and how much you aren’t! That’s not what this quick meta-medium piece is about. You won’t be turning green with envy — nor is this story putting a lot of green in my pocket. But herein I will offer hope to those of us who struggle on this platform.

On February 27, I wrote a story about adolescence and the stupid crap I often did — but managed to avoid on one occasion. As usual, it garnered the customary three-and-a-half views and scored me the equally unimpressive 33.5 cents in earnings like most of the previous 1500 stories I’ve published here.

And then recently, I noticed it crawling up the charts on my partner earnings page. I said to myself “Whoa! What’s going on with that story? Didn’t I write it a while back? How is it number 6 on my hit parade two months later?”

The answer is that I have absolutely no clue as to the reason why or how this story is suddenly collecting more views than another that got boosted earlier this month. But it does give me hope. If this one somehow gained some traction, then maybe one of the other myriad moribund stinkers has a chance as well.
